Having fun at Maxim magazine

What? You think this is going to be a "hot babe" post? OK, I'll throw you a bone:

Now ordinarily I would not post anything from Maxim magazine, but props to Maxim for these two "lists"...

First up, the 5 "unsexiest" women alive. And I have long been saying that I never understood why anyone would find this hag to be sexy:

Of course my distaste for Sarah Jessica Parker may also be rooted in the fact that this dingbat can't act her way out of a wet paper bag. I never bothered to watch Sluts and the City primarily because I can't stand her.

But I do have one complaint. How the hell did this "woman" not make the list?

Next might be one of my favorite "lists" of all time...Maxim's Famous People Who Look Like They Smell. A few selections:

#8 Steve Buscemi: Weasel genitals, fangs, lips, other teeth that aren´t fangs, a hamster cage

#2 John Madden: A turkey leg cured within the folds of his belt fat.

And the grand prize winner:

#1 Andy Rooney: Sex

I'd suggest playing the same game with...

...but that might just be too gross.

(But if you insist, feel free to leave your suggestions in the comment box)

Props to the San Diego Union Tribune...

...for not caving in to the bed-wetting PC crowd. Today they printed the "controversial" Opus cartoon:

You can see the entire strip here.

Well....that was FUN (Updated)

A little excitement here at our little POC blog. A thanks to Hot Air, Newsbusters and The National Review Online who all picked up my post about Bob Filner. Needless to say, that level of activity sent our site-meter spinning.

Oh yeah...you'll notice I said "our". I'd like to welcome into the fold, Yiddish Steel...a fellow Bruin and San Diegan (Encinitas). We have spent the past couple of years snarking up the comment boards at Six Meat Buffet...and he might be a bigger Prick than I am. His first post is here.

Of course most importantly...it's almost football season! And the analysis shows are already on ESPN:

Update: Cranky and Preston at Six Meat Buffet pimp our little blog. Thanks guys!

Who says conservatives don't care about the environment?

Check out the cool little nature preserve and carbon offset Cranky of Six Meat Buffet has created for his little toad friends:

BTW, this is my Carbon Offset Victory Garden. So far, it offsets more carbon than a 50,000 sq.ft. mansion. You’re welcome. (Thanks again to your generous donations to save the planet.)-Cranky

Opening Day

Welcome to This Goes to 11.

I am relatively new to the blogging community. I discovered it in a backwards kind of way. One day I was watching Michelle Malkin on The O'Reilly Factor, and I was impressed with two things:

1. Wow. Michelle is smart.

2. WOW! Michelle is a BABE.

So I "Googled" Michelle...turns out she has a blog. I soon became hooked by her wit and straight-forward analysis (the "babe" thing became a non-factor...she's married with kids).

Then I started clicking on her links...and discovered there was an entire world full of people who suddenly had a voice. One didn't need a journalism degree, a syndicated column or a radio talk show in order to be heard.

I was hooked.

To date, my only involvement in the blogging community has been as a snarky commenter on a few select sites. That changes today. From here on, I hope to be a snarky blogger...because Lord knows there aren't enough of THOSE out there.

Before we throw out the first pitch, very special thanks to my friends at Six Meat Buffet. Preston, Cranky and Smantix...thank you very much for all of your help and encouragement. Rest assured, me and my special group of nitwit pals intend on being a part of your site for as long as you'll have me.

OK, a quick note about the site. Clearly, anyone with knowledge of the movie "This is Spinal Tap" will recognize the title of the blog. And yes, I know that Nigel Tufnel actually says "These Go to 11"....but I am going with a more grammatically correct title. What follows is the inspiration for the title (for those of you who are unfamiliar):

Play Ball!
