Chalk another unnecessary death up to the sanctuary policies of California's Governator and Los Angeles mayor Antonio VillaLaRaza:

An alleged gang member accused of killing a 17-year-old high school student just one day after being released from jail has been living in the country illegally, possibly for more than a decade, federal immigration authorities said Saturday.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has filed paperwork naming 19-year-old Pedro Espinoza, the suspect in the March 2 killing of Los Angeles High School football star Jamiel Shaw Jr., as a potential candidate for deportation.

Virginia Kice, a spokeswoman for the immigration agency, said an immigration hold was issued for Espinoza on March 13, nearly a week after he was arrested in connection with Shaw's death.

No such hold was placed on Espinoza on March 1, the day he was released from a Los Angeles County jail after serving roughly four months for exhibiting a firearm and resisting arrest, said Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore.

The gall of Mayor Tony Villar...whose policies allowed this murder to take place:

The federal immigration agency confirmed the deportation filing on the same day that Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa participated in a ceremony dedicating a memorial in Arlington Heights where Shaw was killed.

A highly regarded running back for his school's football team, Shaw was named the Southern League's most valuable player in 2007. He had drawn the interest of recruiters from Stanford and Rutgers universities, his family said.

SAN MARCOS – Mimi Rohwer took in a day laborer a few years ago, giving him room and board in her San Marcos mobile home while he looked for work.

But when deputies entered the home and discovered the 75-year-old woman's body early Wednesday, her roommate was nowhere to be found.

Yesterday, Julio Cesar Jacobo-Curiel, 57, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, became a suspect in a murder investigation after an autopsy revealed Rohwer had been strangled, sheriff's investigators said.

Obviously Crime Stoppers seems a little overly optimistic about catching Jacobo-Curiel:

Jacobo-Curiel was last seen leaving the Casitas del Sol mobile home park on Barham Drive in Rohwer's 1996 red Toyota Camry, bearing California license plates 3TRH829.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. To leave an anonymous tip, call (888) 580-TIPS.

Uh...here's a safe bet. Jacobo-Curiel is GONE. The Mexican border is just a 40-minute Camry drive from San Marcos.

Jacobo-Curiel may have murdered the wrong senior citizen. Turns out Rohwer is a witch. Here's hoping she gets him from the afterlife:

Rohwer, who was a Wiccan high priestess, had met Jacobo-Curiel when he was in the neighborhood on a job moving a mobile home, Eades said. She offered him a place to stay while he tried to find more work.

She had recently been having problems with Jacobo-Curiel and wanted him to move out, Eades said.

A story in Saturday's Dispatch about an immigration project run by Olentangy Liberty High School Spanish teacher Erica Vieyra sparked instant outrage. First, it drew fire from nationally syndicated conservative columnist Michelle Malkin, then from dozens of Internet bloggers before finally showing up on the Drudge Report, an online aggregator of news sites.

Liberty High Principal Mark Raiff is whining about being exposed

Before long, the e-mail inboxes of administrators filled up and national radio talk-show hosts called looking for interviews. Even CNN wanted a comment.

Though the district went through an Internet phenomenon once before, after the superintendent banned two books from a high-school summer reading list in 2006, the national attention this time around caught Liberty Principal Mark Raiff off guard. Locals, it seemed, weren't calling or stopping Raiff on the street to complain. The story grew online.

"We've been bloggercized," Raiff said. "But I am in 100 percent, absolute support of Ms. Vieyra and, as I watched this project all the way through from beginning to end, I knew the students were learning incredible things."

They sure are. As Michelle Malkin says:

So, these government-subsidized educators are teaching children how to subvert immigration law and learn the ways of the open borders racket. But we’re the fringe” and the “mob”

Interesting that someone at Liberty High wanted publicity for their little "project", and now that they got it they can't handle the criticism. What were they expecting when they publicized how they were teaching their kids how to break the law?

Before bloggers, this project of liberal indoctrination would have passed unnoticed as a sleepy local story. Perhaps now more parents will take notice of what is going on in their public schools...

Wake up Liberty High School...

...Spanish "teacher" Erica Vieyra is indoctrinating your students into bed-wetting liberalism.

This weekend, the Columbus Post-Dispatch ran a story glorifying Ms. Vieyra's project which had her Spanish students pretending they were illegal immigrants trying to find work. Ms. Vieyra claims the project is about teaching her kids "empathy".

Of course her job is to teach Spanish, not "empathy".

It turns out Ms. Vieyra has a blog. I wonder how many parents are actually reading the entries:

What Liberty High Students are watching when they should be learning Spanish

Wait. If Ms. Vierya was really going to give her students an unbiased view of the immigration issue, wouldn't she also include a movie like "Border"?


Of course not. See, Ms. Vierya's job isn't just to teach Spanish, her job is to teach her kids empathy...especially a view that is empathetic to her political viewpoint. And she'll use two "R" rated movies and two documentaries sympathetic to illegal aliens to do so.

This week we will be learning about Frida Kahlo through her art. Students will be given a project packet on Monday. Most of this work will be completed in class. Monday and Tuesday students will observe and evaluate her art and on Thursday and Friday students will paint a self-portrait like Frida Kahlo.

I have no problem with a Spanish teacher introducing art and culture to her students instead of just teaching the language. Certainly this would add to their educational experience.



Of course not knowing much about either Spanish art or culture, I wouldn't have a clue about who Frida Kahlo was. I'll bet most parents don't either:

Many of her works are self-portraits that symbolically express her own pain. Kahlo was married to and influenced by the Mexican/Spanish muralist Diego Rivera and shared his Communist views.

Their marriage was often tumultuous. Both Kahlo and Rivera had notoriously fiery temperaments and both had numerous extramarital affairs. The openly bisexual Kahlo had affairs with both men and women (including Leon Trotsky);

And what sort of material is Ms. Vierya using to teach her captive audience about Frida Kahlo?:

Students are sharing their Frida poems and portraits with the class: is a speaking and writing grade. Students should be reviewing all of their vocabulary. (There is no new vocabulary for this week.) Students will be viewing the film, Frida, and completing a viewing activity packet. This will be due at the end of the film.

That's Frida, a film rated "Rated R for sexuality/nudity and language". A movie that glorifies lesbianism.

I wonder if that viewing packet was available for parents to see before they showed the movie in class? What would a 16-year old boy's response be to this?

Liberty High School Spanish teacher Erica Vieyra had a very special project for her students. It wasn't enough to simply teach her kids how to habla espanol; drawing from a lesson plan that could have been received from La Raza she had to indoctrinate them:

POWELL -- The students had a role-play project: assume a Latino identity, build an imaginary life in your home country and develop a workable plan to immigrate to the United States.

Try it legally, Erica Vieyra told her 40 senior Spanish students at Olentangy Liberty High School. Fill out the correct documents, follow the proper steps. And then, after they spent days completing the actual paperwork from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, she took out her red ink pad and stamped a big, fat DENIED across every request.

Nice. Because the United States never lets anyone into this country who follow legal channels. Ignore the fact that last year the United States let in more than 1.3 million immigrants who followed the law.

Nope, Erica had a better idea. Let's forget all of that and brainwash your students to sympathize with everyone who broke the law to come here. And enlist the Columbus Dispatch to further push this agenda:

Now, she told the students, come illegally. Forge your documents, find a way across the border. Then, research real ads and find a place to live in Columbus. Figure out what it would cost, how to get food. Plan how to survive.

The students had to go to real businesses and ask for Spanish-language job applications. They had to visit a bank and ask for new-account documents written in Spanish.

Vieyra promised them that the process -- even in make-believe -- would frustrate them. But they would gain, she hoped, an understanding of what is one of the most important political and humanitarian issues facing the U.S. government today.

Of course Erica Vieyra claims that she isn't indoctrinating students at all:

This is the fifth year that Vieyra has assigned this project to students in her Spanish V class. Each year someone, a teacher perhaps, maybe just a friend, cringes: "They say, 'That's such a hot topic. Are you sure you want to go there?' "

She always answers yes. But she cautions that the point isn't to sway the students, only to teach them a little empathy.

Oh. Well which one of her kids plays the role of the illegal alien who spread tuberculosis because they evaded legal immigrations channels? Or how many kids get to play the illegal aliens who commit gang rape? Did she send her 40 kids to the local emergency room all at the same time to get treatment for their colds...and walk out without paying?

As liberals always say, I'm...you know...just askin' questions...

NY Governor Eliot Spitzer: Moron

Six years after illegal alien jihadis flew planes into the World Trade Center, New York Governor Eliot Spitzer is practically begging for it to happen again:

NEW YORK They were celebrating outside the governor's office Friday as Eliot Spitzer handed a landmark victory to a half-million illegal immigrants.

The state will no longer require proof of citizenship for driver's licenses.

"We're changing our policy with respect to getting more people out of shadows and into the system so people don't hide they're here," Spitzer said.

What a fool. How the hell are you going to be able to tell who these people really are?

Under the new policy, the Department of Motor Vehicles will accept foreign passports and birth certificates from immigrants as proof of identification. They will no longer need to provide a Social Security card.

Well that's just great. Ever seen a birth certificate from Syria?



That would be almost impossible to forge, right? And of course the brainiacs who work at the DMV will probably just take the word of any Arabic-speaking co-worker Al Qaeda has planted to translate.

Though they can't vote (yet), Spitzer is sticking up for the illegal alien community:

"As long as I'm governor we won't pretend they don't exist, cut them off from society," Spitzer said.

No, Eliot...you should be deporting the illegal aliens who live in your state instead of giving them privileges that citizens have to earn.

Church billed $40,000 for harboring Elvira Arellano wannabe

Another "church" decides to harbor another illegal alien with an anchor baby. But Simi Valley, California is playing hardball:

By the end of the week, a Simi Valley church will be billed almost $40,000 for police presence during a weekend protest against the church's sheltering of an illegal immigrant.

The city of Simi Valley is sending a $39,306 invoice to the United Church of Christ for costs incurred for police services at the protest.

The Sunday protest brought out about 125 anti-illegal immigration activists and counterprotesters. Simi officials said that by publicly announcing the decision to shelter an illegal immigrant, the church essentially provoked the protesters to come and create a possible disturbance — one that police had to monitor.

Mayor Paul Miller told the council Monday night that he's ready to send out the bill right away. He called church members irresponsible for "harboring an illegal immigrant."

"This city is not going to be known as sanctuary city,'" Miller said.

The City Council made it clear it doesn't want Liliana in a Simi Valley church.

At the council meeting, Miller said he sent a letter to U.S. Rep. Elton Gallegly, R-Simi Valley, requesting immigration officials take custody of Liliana.

Just curious. Where's the father of the baby? If the church really wanted to keep the family together, don't you think they could go find the dad?

And nobody is threatening to break the family up. The baby can go back to Mexico with the mother.

First you crossed our borders illegally and then you were deported. But you came back just days later, ignoring our immigration laws and passing all the immigrants who were patiently waiting in line to be here legally.



Then you couldn't keep your legs closed while here and got pregnant. Nobody knows who the father is (including your own kid, and maybe not even you).

Did Illegal Aliens cost me my job?

As I mentioned earlier this month, I returned from a glorious vacation to find that the company that I had worked for had gone bankrupt.




As it turns out, that may have been largely in part to a program my company participated in that gave mortgages to "undocumented immigrants":

Last week the first major subprime lender collapsed under the pressure from loan defaults. American Home Mortgage Investment Corp. sold nearly $60 billion dollars in loans to borrowers in 2006. They were forced to declare bankruptcy when they could no longer find Wall Street firms willing to invest in securities to back the loans they were making.

The failure of AHMC caused subprime concerns to spread to Alt-A mortgages, which are mortgage loans for people with good credit, but who do not want to nor have the means to verify income with tax forms and pay stubs. Alt-A loans made up 13% of all mortgage loans last year according to Inside Mortgage Finance.

When discussing the current mortgage loan crisis before Congress, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said on July 18, 2007 that "rising delinquencies and foreclosures are creating personal, economic and social distress for many homeowners and communities -- problems that likely will get worse before they get better."

The economic impact of this crisis is obvious. Lenders are running short on cash with which to make future loans and are being forced to borrow money from European banks. Hedge funds investing in mortgage securities are being frozen because managers can't determine their values because of lack of buyers. As of this writing the Dow Jones Industrial Average has fallen nearly 900 points from its high of 14000 based on mortgage default fears. The National Association of Realtors says U.S. housing prices will fall for the first time since the Great Depression of the 1930's.

The money shot:

Just who are these borrowers that are defaulting on their mortgage loans at nearly a 50% rate? Leonardo Simpser of the Hispanic National Mortgage Association (NHMA) says that Hispanic first-time buyers constitute the fastest-growing segment of the subprime mortgage market. He also says that many Latinos, especially recent immigrants, have low FICO credit scores or no scores at all and are less creditworthy than they are in reality.

HNMA is the creator of the Hispanic Automated Underwriting System (HAUS) which claims to allow lenders to "eliminate the need for time-consuming manual underwriting of such applicants, and allows lenders to underwrite borrowers with no Social Security numbers and multiple income sources."

For the record, I did not participate in any way in this loan program. I disagreed with it on principal...because if someone could not document their right to live and work in my country, I certainly was not going to help them buy a house.

Oh yeah...and there was that thing about being unable to pay back the loan.

For those who give a rat's ass...I start my new job today. My new company does not participate in this program.

City of New Haven to be renamed City of "Safe" Haven

If you live in New Haven, Connecticut...brush up on your Spanish:

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (Reuters) - As many U.S. cities and states arrest illegal immigrants in raids and toughen laws against them, a Connecticut city is offering to validate them under a controversial, first-in-the-nation ID card program.

Starting Tuesday, New Haven will offer illegal immigrants municipal identification cards that allow access to city services such as libraries and a chance to open bank accounts.

Supporters say the cards will improve public safety and give undocumented workers protections now afforded legal residents. Critics contend it will unleash a flood of illegal immigration, straining services and wasting taxpayer money.

New Haven officials overwhelmingly approved the program last month in
a 25 to 1 vote.

Of course the "bigots" are not going to take this sitting down:

Opponents hope to rally the public against it. Southern Connecticut Citizens for Immigration Reform says the ID cards will change "the entire country as we know it" and is organizing a protest on Tuesday at city hall.

"There are millions of illegal aliens right around us that when these ID cards are available to them, they will rush to them and get some identification that will allow them to go to other cities," said Ted Pechinski, who leads the group.

"Green cards? We don't need no steenkin' green cards! We're moving to New Haven!"

Since New Haven is so eager to embrace the illegal alien community, here's a little help:

North Carolina-based Americans for Legal Immigration PAC has circulated a flier in 40 states urging illegal workers to move to New Haven, said its president William Gheen.

"Maybe New Haven needs to learn, if they want the illegals, then they'll get the illegals," he said.

His flier, in English and Spanish, says: "Come to New Haven CT for sanctuary. Bring your friends and family members quickly."

Fatima, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, said she is eager to apply for the card. "The ID will help me because it's a way to be in this country and get people to know who you are, especially for people who crossed the border and lost their papers," she said. "I feel safe here in New Haven."

Drunken Illegal Aliens play bumper cars on our freeways...9 year old boy dies as a result

It's sad, but it seems like I could do this kind of post almost every day:

DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO – A father accused of driving drunk and fleeing the freeway crash that killed his 9-year-old son pleaded not guilty yesterday to gross vehicular manslaughter and other charges.

Marcos Munoz Sanchez, 33, faces several felony and misdemeanor charges, including child endangerment, driving under the influence and hit-and-run. If convicted, he could be sent to prison for up to 15 years.

Deputy District Attorney Melissa Vasel said Munoz was driving on Interstate 8 near Texas Street on Saturday when he crashed into a car parked on the shoulder around 1:40 a.m. His son, Alex Munoz , was in the passenger seat and died as a result of the impact.

Vasel told the judge that a witness came out of a nearby restaurant shortly after the crash and saw a man running from the area. Later, police saw a white pickup circling the restaurant parking lot.

Vasel said police saw the same truck again later that day near the family's Linda Vista apartment and contacted the men inside.

Marcos Munoz , the passenger, had minor injuries and glass in his hair and clothes, authorities said. Another man, Raul Munoz Sanchez, was driving the pickup. The men are believed to be related, Vasel said.

Vasel told the judge that Raul Munoz 's blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.19 percent after his arrest. Marcos Munoz 's blood-alcohol content measured 0.11 percent a little more than three hours after the collision. The legal threshold for drunken driving is 0.08 percent.

Deputy Public Defender Paul Rodriguez said Marcos Munoz has no significant criminal record, except for a misdemeanor conviction from 2005.

Illegal alien molests 13 year old boy...

A 13-year-old boy was sexually assaulted near a Poway middle school Monday after a homeless man lured him with alcohol to a hillside encampment, sheriff's officials said yesterday.

Jesus Mora Nava, 30, was arrested hours later after a short pursuit by deputies and booked into jail on suspicion of several child molestation charges.

Nava is being held without bail. He also is being detained on federal immigration violations.

Nava promised the boy alcohol and led him to a nearby hillside, where it appeared Nava had been camping out, sheriff's Capt. Glenn Revell said.

Investigators said Nava gave the boy a drink before sexually assaulting him.

Nava was arrested after a short chase. Investigators say he was identified based on the victim's statement and help from local businesses.

Nava entered the country illegally after being deported from the Imperial Valley in May, said Lauren Mack, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman.

Nava also has been arrested for public intoxication, Revell said.

“We are concerned he has possibly tried to lure other young people in a similar situation, and we'd like other possible victims to summon the same courage and come forward,” Revell said.
